Cover Tunes Coming Again?

Lately, I have had many old songs spinning through my head. The latest has been "Long Long Time" recorded by Linda Rhonstadt. I have been playing it courtesy of Guitar Guy and his chart (slightly modified by me) all this week. It must be something about the lyric that says..."I can't say you hurt me when you never let me near." Somehow, it rings so TRUE of my last "relationship".

And tonight, I watched my Border Collie wallowing around in the backyard grass (that is way too HIGH for words) and it brought back the lyrics from that old Fleetwood Mac song that say... "Let me lay you down in the tall grass and let me do my stuff." Now THAT was a great song. I must have played that album until I wore grooves in it.

Isn't it funny how just looking at something can bring songs up into memory? I KNOW all of you do this too. I cannot be alone in this. Sometimes, it's just plain obnoxious especially if you just burst into song in the middle of a restaurant or a movie or something. Tell me you all do that too! (I don't really but it was fun to think about.)

So once I figure out what the copyright laws are about simply posting a cover song on a website for free download, you may see some up there. I know when you actually record and sell a song you have to pay the writer royalties. The freebie angle may be a bit different. Hum?
