Oh My God

I was speaking with a friend tonight on the phone about her BEST friend of twenty five years or so. It seems this friend has suddenly "gotten religion". My buddy said, "Every third word out of her mouth is Jesus this and Jesus that."

"No", I exclaimed. "Not her. This isn't possible." And then I went on to point out that maybe she'd calm down a bit in the future. "I think it's kind of like a new relationship. You know how obnoxious people are when they are first in them", I intimated.

"Well, I went to her house the other day and there are crosses and artifacts EVERYWHERE. One whole wall is covered in crucifixes. There's no open space at all. It looks like Jesus threw up all over the place!"

I nearly ran the car off the road, I was laughing so hard. Only SHE could put it that way!

And, getting religion and believing in God is a great thing I think. I believe the rub is where some folks start feeling like it's getting crammed down their throats when the new recipient is suddenly on FIRE in all the new found excitement.

Somehow, I think maybe even Jesus would be laughing at her observations. I have to believe that God has a sense of humor. After all, he created US.
