June Bugs
Or May Beetles
At night, when I sit out on my back patio, my dogs follow me out. I have noticed that the June Bugs or May Beetles (whichever you prefer) are out already in the beginning of April. Holy crud....they're really early this year.
The maniacally fly around, crashing against the bricks and then tumble to the ground. It's unfortunate for them because my dogs immediately EAT them. They've probably eaten 30 of them in the last 2 days.
This brings back memories of my High School years and my cat, Babe. My sister and I once sat out on the patio and counted her captures one night. She ate FIFTY THREE June Bugs. Belly bulging, we just laughed and laughed at her.
The next morning brought quite a surprise. She had expelled exoskeletons of the bugs on the back porch. What a gross mess that was!
My dogs also have a penchant for Geckos which really pisses me off. When they go after these precious little guys, I yell at them, "LEGGO of the Geckos!!" and try to scare them off.
I've also noticed lately that my Border Collie has been eating the Poop of her sisters. TOTALLY GROSS.
So, next time your dog or dogs come up to you and want to LICK you, you
might want to think twice about letting them. They put the strangest things
into their mouths and EAT them.
